Do you own or would want to own two or more GSDs?
Did you know…
Socialization is be an integral element during puppy training. It plays a significant role in your German Shepherds’ development. Keep in mind that what you do or don’t do during his puppyhood will affect your GSD’s behavior forever. Socialization is one of the most important things to do if you want to have a well adjusted and good companion dog.
The best time to socialize your puppy is between 3 and 12 weeks old. During these times your pup is most accepting of new experiences. After that age, it might be more difficult to socialize him as he will become much more cautious of anything new.
However, you should first consider your puppy’s health before socializing him. There might be risks of infectious diseases, so it is recommended to keep your puppy indoors until all his vaccinations are complete.
You can simply invite friends over to meet your young dog. Ensure to have different kinds of people — men, women, youngsters, old people, etc.
More importantly, make sure you socialize your German Shepherd with friendly, healthy, vaccinated dogs and even cats.
