There are several techniques you can use to stop any unwanted behavior of your German Shepherd. Whatever you choose, always remember that it should be a non-violent training method as positive reinforcements have been proven to be more effective by millions of dog owners.
Discipline your dog based on his temperament and size. The key idea is to break his bad behavior, and not break his spirit. Dogs do not respond the same. Some may be more sensitive than others. Pay close attention to your dog’s response during your training and discipline habits.
One of the proven ways to stop undesirable dog behavior is to stop rewarding it.When GSD has done something bad or unacceptable, as much as possible do not yell at him. Although you may feel upset, he may see this as a reward as e successfully got your attention Also, do not hug or pet her when he did something naughty but cute, as petting him during these times may confuse him. Keep your discipline habits simple, good behavior equals treats or petting, and no reward for unwanted behavior.
