Some dog owners put sunglasses on their pets just to make a statement. While it is fashionable, proper sunglasses will offer better eye protection. Just as with the human eyes, your GSD’s need enough protection from the wind, sand and of course the sun’s ultraviolet rays.

There are doggie sunglasses being marketed these days, and they are available in various sizes too. This type of sunglasses are designed solely for our furry companion. Many veterinarians actually recommend using such product, citing both UV protection and element protection for your dear canine.

But of course, you can always get your trusted veterinarian’s opinion on whether or not doggie sunglasses would be a good buy for you and your pal. There are plenty of other ways to protect your dog from too much exposure to the the sun, such as providing shaded areas for him to play when he’s outside and offering fresh drinking water regularly.
