This gorgeous German Shepherd will go anywhere her mommy goes. And of course a car ride wouldn’t be so fun for dogs if they don;t try to stick their heads out the window!

Why Dogs Love to Stick Their Heads Out the Car Window
For most dogs, a car ride is pure joy. It’s like the closest heaven on earth experience they can get, particularly if they can stick their heads out the car window. But why do they love doing that?
The most common explanation that experts provide is the exciting smells. Dogs have amazingly powerful sense of smell that their brains devote 40% more power to analyzing smells compared to us. With their heads hanging out the car window, dogs can enjoy wide range of odors. Your GSD’s sensitive nose allows him to gather information about his surroundings, other animals, food aromas, etc.
Another possible reason why our furry buddies love to stick their head out of a moving car is that they enjoy the sights too. Just like we do, they also love to check out interesting sights along the way. Because our pets usually spend most of their day at home, a car ride would really be a fun experience.
However, you must ensure the safety of your dog during car rides. It might not be safe to let your pet hang his head out the window as his eyes are exposed to debris or dust. Flapping ears are also at risk for inflammation or infection. Also, your dog might fall out the window if you’re not cautious enough. It is still best to fully contain your pal inside the car. You can slightly crack the window open for him, but never allow him to hang his head outside.
