Nurturing Your Dog’s Curiosity
Dogs, like humans tend to be curious about new things. However, dogs are more curious because they have superior senses than us. They love exploring their surroundings, usually using their noses first. It’s your dog’s natural impulse to investigate. Through this process of investigation he learns whether or not to avoid similar situations.
It is important that you address your dog;s curiosity properly. Certain behaviors, like trash raiding, may be problematic. Your buddy might think that he’s getting something tasty in the trash and therefore will try to do it again and again.
Also, be careful about reinforcing certain behaviors, such as excessive barking. You might not be aware that your dog actually thinks that he’s getting a reward from this behavior. Dog can easily associate his action with something else that happened at that same time. So be very cautious in nurturing your dog’s nature.
