Do Dogs Really Dream?
Researchers say there is enough evidence to support that our canine companion also experience dreams. Scientists have tested dog brain wave activity during sleep and discovered that they are similar to humans in terms of sleep patterns and brain wave activity.
Like humans, our furry pals enter a deep sleep stage, wherein their breathing becomes more irregular and have rapid eye movements. It is during this stage that actual dreaming and involuntary movements take place. You may see your GSD move his legs as if he’s running, whine or breathe rapidly.
So what do they dream about? Well, itâs more difficult to determine what our dogs dream about. But in human dreams, we usually reflect what we’ve experienced. With that we can assume that our beloved pets also dream about their actual experiences, such as chasing, playing, and eating.
