Tips in Spending Time Outdoors with Your GSD
Many dog owners love spending time in the outdoors with their fury pal. To ensure that you and your buddy really have a great time outdoors, always consider these tips:
- Protect your GSD from pests. Before bringing your pal outdoors you must ensure that he is very much protected from fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, other outdoor pests. Talk to your vet about the the best flea and tick preventives as well as about administering heartworm medication.
- Make sure he knows basic obedience. It is critical that your GSD is trained with basic commands, such as “come”, “sit” and “leave it”. You have to be in control of your pall in order to keep him safe. Also, your buddy must know how to walk properly on a leash before you head out for an adventure outdoor
- Prepare him physically. You need to be aware of your dog’s abilities and limitations. Before getting really excited about doing any outdoor activity, make sure your pal can handle it.
- Pack his own doggie bag. Make sure that you pack your pal’s essentials too, such as food stored in airtight containers, water bowls, canine first aid kit, extra leash and collar, bedding, poop bags, and grooming tools. Also, make sure his collars have identification tags.
