Car Safety Tips for GSD Owners
It’s a sad fact that many dogs are injured or even killed yearly due to car accidents. The prime reason is that they were allowed to move around freely during the car ride. Aside from the danger in your pet’s life, doing so can likewise endanger human life and property. The good news is, there are plenty of options available these days to prevent such accidents, such as vehicle pet barriers, pet seat belts, pet car seats, and travel crates.
When you restrain your dog, it is essential that he is familiar with the restraint of choice weeks before the travel date so he will have a comfortable ride.
Never allow your GSD to move freely during the car ride. You may be distracted which could lead to an accident. And it is best if you don’t allow him to ride in the front seat. This will prevent him from being injured by air bags or being thrown into the windshield.
