We just love how our dogs look cute and amusing in different costumes. However, as a responsible dog owner, you must make sure that you know how to choose the right costume for your dog.
For one, you must choose the right size of costume for your dog. You can only ensure proper costume size if you measure the dog. The three measurements you need to take are: body length (from the collar to where the costume will end), collar (take your dogâs collar circumference), and belly (this will ensure a perfect fit).
Manufacturer sizing may vary so it is important that you know you dog’s measurements. Pay close attention to the package, or website, and then select the costume size of your dog accordingly.
Also, consider the material of the costume. Are there choking hazards? Is it suitable for the weather? It is always best to choose a simple costume to make sure your dog is still comfortable.
