German Shepherd Eye Care
German Shepherds are lucky n terms if eye health. Unlike other breeds they are less likely to be plagued with eye abnormalities. In general, GSD’s eyes don’t require constant cleaning or much attention. Their eyes are those of a working dog.
However, it is still possible for foreign bodies to injure your pal’s eyes. If you see you dog pawing at his eyes, squinting the eyes closed, or scratching, it may indicate that something might be wrong. What you can initially do is flush the affected eye with water or sterile saline solution.
If you notice that his eyes are cloudy with discolored whites, or if there’s discharge from the eyes, take him to your vet immediately. Whether something is stuck in her eye or he’s suffering from the onset of disease, it is important that you have him examined as soon as possible to prevent further damage to the eyes.
