this lovely German Shepherd loves the water! It seems that he loves taking a bath too. Does your GSD love to swim?

Bathing Your German Shepherd
German Shepherds don’t need too frequent baths provided they are given quality food and brushed regularly. Ideally, once a month bathing would suffice. However during flea season it is sometimes necessary to bathe your pal more often in order to prevent any pesky pests from endangering the health of your GSD.
It is not recommended to bathe more frequently than every 10 days or so as over. While your intention is good, bathing will strip the natural oils in your pet’s coat. Also, here are some reminders in bathing your beloved pooch:
- Wet your dog’s hair with lukewarm water. Always check the water temperature first.
- Lather your GSD from the top of his head, down his chest and legs and tail. Choose a shampoo that is appropriate for your dog. Canine’s “pH” is different from products meant for people. And also, ensure sure to keep the soap off his face.
- Make sure to thoroughly rinse off the shampoo. Rub your hand over your dog’s coat to eliminate any soap bubbles or residue. This is extremely important as soap left on your pal’s skin can cause dryness, irritation and itchiness.
