Many German Shepherds spoil their dogs but nothing compares to perhaps the most spoiled dog in canine history– the Pekingese in ancient China.
These little pooches were so important in ancient China that they sleep in marble kennels with silk bed linens. They even had their own personal servants to wash and look after them.
Throughout the Tang Empire, nobody outside of the imperial royal residence was allowed to possess or breed this kind of dog. If a commoner happened to come across with a Pekingese (then called a Lion Dog), he or she had to bow, as with human members of the court.
